A deep running back class and the offensive linemen will be in the spotlight on the second day of the on-field workouts at the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine.
The big names like Iowa State’s Breece Hall, Michigan State’s Ken Walker, and Texas A&M’s Isaiah Spiller will be put through the gamut on drills, so we’ll get a sense of how those three feature back types compare athletically. Looking forward to that.
In the trenches, we unfortunately won’t get to see Alabama’s Evan Neal run after decided to wait until his pro day on March 30 to demonstrate to everyone how much of an athletic freak he is at 337 pounds. At the podium earlier in the week, he looked like 227 pounds. No one carries that weight as well as he does.

How about Zion’s measurements? Those 34-inch arms are OT length. He did play out there at Boston College but will be slotted inside in the NFL. Teams will love that length.

Kenyon Green’s film is difficult to peg because he was up and down at multiple positions but he definitely has the movement skills to play LT, OG, or C at the NFL level. Pretty rare.

I haven’t finalized my grade on Cam Jurgens yet. Got to get to that right away after this workout. The athleticism is hopping off the screen.

Luke Fortner is an older prospect with three degrees. He has played guard and center for Kentucky. I thought he looked more comfortable at center this season. Very smart player.
Dare Rosenthal is an athletic tackle that transferred from LSU. He should run well but struggled with power and consistency this season. I think he is the type of player that a team is going to bet on his traits on Day 3.
Darian Kinnard has played tackle but looks more like a guard. He is more polished as a run blocker, which makes sense considering UK’s offensive tendencies until this season, that has shown improvement in pass protection. He will probably go mid Day 2.

TCU’s Obinna Eze had 36 1/8 inch arms, which is absurd. You want tackle prospects to have longer arms so that they have the ability to land the first punch. Although, there is value to alternating punch pace as well.

Josh just mentioned in our Slack room… Central Michigan’s Bernhard Raimann disappointed a bit in the measurements — he had arms under the 33″ threshold some teams have for their OTs. He has first-round hype.

Abraham Lucas with a 5.00 at his size is a quality time for him. He’s a finesse pass blocker but has big-time tools.

Charles Cross was a winner from the weigh-in too: He was just under 6-5 with nearly 35-inch arms. Prototype size.
